10 Ways to Bring Good Karma to Your Network

Published on: 29th June, 2022

Studies show that most of us believe in Karma - even if we don’t admit it. Do you believe in it?  Do you agree that it’s a Bitch as the saying goes? Karma really speaks of the spiritual cycle of cause and effect. When we perform good deeds and have good intentions we are adding to our own good karma. But when we have bad intentions or do bad deeds our bad karma starts to add up.

According to the karmic laws of cause and effect, all of our actions, thoughts and intentions create energy. And if you believe in the laws of thermodynamics energy cannot be destroyed it can only be changed from one form to another. So how can we begin to infuse great karmic energy into our network?

Listen in for 10 ways to habitually put good karma out into your network and the world!

Karma.

Julie:

Do you believe in it?

Julie:

Do you agree that it's a bitch?

Julie:

As the saying goes, studies show and you know how much I love study studies

Julie:

show that most of us do believe in karma, even if we don't admit it.

Julie:

Welcome to episode 99 of this ship.

Julie:

A podcast dedicated to all things, networking, business

Julie:

development, and relational.

Julie:

I'm your host, Julie Brown.

Julie:

And today I am talking about 10 ways to make karma work for you.

Julie:

Let's first define and describe karma.

Julie:

karma is a Sanskrit word.

Julie:

That means action work or deed, and it really speaks to the

Julie:

spiritual cycle of cause and effect.

Julie:

When we perform good deeds and have good intentions, we are adding to the

Julie:

good energy to our own good karma.

Julie:

But when we have bad intentions or do bad, deeds are bad.

Julie:

Karma starts to add.

Julie:

So these actions, words, or deeds, they have their own energy and we can also

Julie:

be affected by other people's karma.

Julie:

Nothing happens in a vacuum.

Julie:

Every situation you encounter in life as the result of someone else's karma,

Julie:

their actions, their work, or their deeds, according to karmic laws of

Julie:

cause and effect all of our actions, thoughts and intentions create.

Julie:

And if you believe in the laws of thermodynamics,

Julie:

energy cannot be destroyed.

Julie:

It can only be changed from one form to another.

Julie:

So where does that energy from our good deeds go?

Julie:

If you follow something long enough, it doesn't end.

Julie:

Your good deed has a journey and a future.

Julie:

We don't know what form it will end up taking and how many people it will affect.

Julie:

We have to just trust that it's going somewhere.

Julie:

Even if it isn't coming back to us.

Julie:

So how can we create positive karma in our networks?

Julie:

How many good actions work deeds or intentions can we give

Julie:

to the people in our network.

Julie:

Karma is real.

Julie:

When it is rooted in selfishness, your good actions work, deeds or

Julie:

intentions will inspire others in your networking guests.

Julie:

When you build a better, happier, more fulfilled network, you get to live

Julie:

in the world that is shaped by that better, happier and more fulfilled

Julie:

network and reap all of the benefits of it, tangible and intangible.

Julie:

So what are some of the ways we can build up the good karma within our network?

Julie:

A recent article by Inc describes 10 ideas we can put into practice every day

Julie:

to habitually do for others in our life.

Julie:

Here are those 10 ways, one offer a compliment, telling someone you think

Julie:

he or she, she has done her job well is an easy way to spread positivity that

Julie:

costs, you know, Or don't make it about work, make it about something easy.

Julie:

I recently bought this pair of pants at TJ Maxx, gorgeous linen pants with like

Julie:

tropical leaves and shit all over it.

Julie:

So comfy and so fun.

Julie:

And every fucking day I wear those pants.

Julie:

Someone stops me to tell me how awesome my pants are.

Julie:

And I'm like, I know TJ.

Julie:

20 bucks.

Julie:

Go get yourself a pair before they're gone.

Julie:

I always feel awesome.

Julie:

Every time someone stops me to talk about my pants.

Julie:

To make a good recommendation.

Julie:

As in leave a positive review about something.

Julie:

Did you buy something on Amazon that you loved?

Julie:

Like my book, maybe leave a positive review for the author or the seller

Julie:

of the product that you bought.

Julie:

Have a podcast that you always listened to.

Julie:

Leave a positive review.

Julie:

Did someone post something on LinkedIn and achievement, a story, anything,

Julie:

leave a positive comment about that person or that story or that achievement?

Julie:

Just like number one, this doesn't cost you anything.

Julie:

And it puts so much good out into a world three.

Julie:

Just start working as in pitch in without being asked, volunteer your time.

Julie:

Do good work.

Julie:

For find someone, a job, make a connection or a recommendation that

Julie:

can help someone else's career goals, especially when there is nothing

Julie:

obvious in it for you five offer.

Julie:

Thanks.

Julie:

Think every single person for what they do for you or how they make you feel.

Julie:

Most people greatly appreciate even a simple statement of another

Julie:

person's appreciation of them.

Julie:

Giveaway something valuable.

Julie:

Now the article means this as in, if you are offered something that you

Julie:

can't use or isn't a fit for you or your business, give it to someone else.

Julie:

This could be something tangible, like an object, or it could mean work.

Julie:

Like when people reach out to me to ask if I will speak on a subject that

Julie:

I don't cover, I don't simply say no.

Julie:

I make sure I make the introduction to someone who can speak on that subject.

Julie:

I give that work to the other person.

Julie:

Seven, teach someone to do something instead of being the person who just

Julie:

does everything themselves, take the time to teach someone else aspects of what

Julie:

you do or take time to mentor others.

Julie:

Eight.

Julie:

Listen.

Julie:

No, that's it.

Julie:

Listen.

Julie:

It might be the greatest gift we have to offer simply to listen actively and

Julie:

truly hear what other people have to say.

Julie:

Offer forgiveness.

Julie:

We've all done things to other people that we regret.

Julie:

If you want to spread good karma, sometimes the best way to do so is

Julie:

to forgive people for some of the bad vibes they've sent your way.

Julie:

Show up, show up for the people in your life.

Julie:

When they throw a party, go to it.

Julie:

When they are a part of an event, go to it.

Julie:

When they launch a new product, be there for them.

Julie:

When they do a LinkedIn live event, I tend in comment, show up every

Julie:

day for the people in your network.

Julie:

So there's it.

Julie:

There's the 10 things, but you should do all those things.

Julie:

And others trust that the good karma is going somewhere.

Julie:

Even if it isn't coming back to you.

Julie:

Trust.

Julie:

The actions work Indeeds of others.

Julie:

Positive karma will indeed find its way to you on its journey.

Julie:

Onto the drink of the week.

Julie:

And this week we have a cocktail named after something.

Julie:

We certainly don't want to happen.

Julie:

This week's cocktail is called the karma killer.

Julie:

I have no idea why, because I can't figure it out, but, here's

Julie:

what you're going to need.

Julie:

One ounce of dark rum, a quarter ounce of peach brand.

Julie:

Maybe it's that maybe it's the peach Brandy that kills the karma bull one

Julie:

ounce of orange juice, one ounce of pineapple juice, one ounce of grapefruit

Julie:

juice and a quarter ounce of triple sack.

Julie:

Pour the rum triple sec, impeach Brandy into highball glass, three fourths of the

Julie:

way filled with ice cubes and then add the fruit juices, stairwell and serve.

Julie:

All right friends.

Julie:

That's it for this.

Julie:

Now go put some, good Juju out in the world.

Julie:

Like maybe if you read my book and you haven't given me a review on Amazon,

Julie:

that would be amazing because this guy left me a two star review recently

Julie:

and it just kind of made me feel bad.

Julie:

And also if you haven't had a chance to review this podcast, I would love

Julie:

it if you would do that as well.

Julie:

So that is.

Julie:

I hope I haven't killed the karma with those requests.

Julie:

I'll talk to you next week.
